Chaplain’s Message to the Members:
“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my
cry. He brought me up out of the pit
of destruction, out of the miry clay; and He put my feet upon a rock making my
footsteps firm. “ Psalm 40:1-2 (NAS
translation) If I can be of
assistance to you, please call me.
Jim Howland (Hal is on to Texas now)
We transferred

this month.
Commander’s Corner:
Thank you again for your
confidence in me as the commander of the Post.
I am so grateful for the other officers continuing on for another year.
There were a couple of moves, but the people are the same.
The Post Officers (see left
side of this letter.) do a great job for the Post and the community.
The three Youth Environmental Conference students are back from the
Sacramento area. One got sick and
came home early but the other two had a great time and learned a lot about the
environment. I attended the Girls
State luncheon last weekend and Jeff and I attended the Boys State dinner at the
Newport Harbor 291 Post this past week.
The place was full to the gills, pun intended.
Their sessions will be in June/first week of July.
We will see them in September.
Ahead are most of the JROTC award ceremonies.
This year, we are giving the students a certificate, ribbon, medal, and a
check for $100. Also ahead are the
Senior Awards in which Kendall Neisess
and I will be splitting the presenting duties.
The senior award recipients receive a certificate, a medallion and a
check for $100.
Thank you Kendall.
Our’s is a great Post!!!
Thanks for another great year everyone!!!!

With so many people faking
service in the military, the Army Times listed these five hints to help us
identify them. 1) Look for multiple high medals, inappropriate headgear, and “v”
devices where they don’t belong. 2) Be wary of anyone saying they are the “only
survivor” of a battle. 3) Question claims of multiple service awards with a
story that doesn’t make sense. 4)
When something doesn’t quite look right-take a picture.
Some phonies have been identified after their pictures were posted
online, which is a great way to document the occasion as well.
5) People who participate in covert operations usually don’t talk about
it. Question those badges that don’t
look right or are worn incorrectly.
Upcoming Meeting Dates:
The next few monthly meeting dates: July 12th, August 9, and
September 13. Please mark your
