OperationLandstuhlUpdate.LastmonthwereportedourPost’scontributionsof$2,300andRealtorJackieOrzechowski’s(“JackiO’s”)$1,000matchbroughtourtotalto$3,300. ThePostreceivedaspecialCertificatefrom29^thDist.CommanderJohnnieLaird.

NotesfromOctober.OurspeakerwasLieutenantJeffBardzik,whoischargeofsecurityattheNorthJusticeCenteraka,theFullertoncourthouse.Screeningofindividualsenteringthecourthousehasbeeninplaceaboutayearandover500.000peoplehavebeenscreened.NOONEisexemptfromthescreeningprocessandtherearenotexceptionsincludingattorneysandpeopleknowntothescreeners.Beltbucklesandshoesareremovedforscreening.JeffshowaphotoofvariousconcealedweaponslikeaThrowingStarthatlookedlikeabeltbuckleOver1500kniveshavebeenconfiscatedinthelastyear.Hebroughtadisplaycardshowingthelargevarietyofpotentialweaponsthathavebeenseized.Hementionedthatpeoplewhoroutinelycarrysuchweaponsonadailybasisforgettheyhavethemandhavethemtakenfromthem.Jeffnotedthatofficersdoingthescreeningarecarefullychosenandtrainedastheyaretheinitialcontactwiththepublicenteringthefacilityandthecourtwantstohaveaninitialgoodimpressionforvisitors.Histalkwaswellreceivedandtherewerenumerousquestions. MinutesfortheAugustmeetingandfinancialreportwerereviewedandapprovedaspresented.

TheCommanderpresentedHalDixonwithaGoldMedalforhisworkasthePostAssistantChaplain. WaltWittwaspresentedaGoldMembershipAchievementMedalforhisfabulousandlongtimeworkrecruitingmembers. Wewerevisitedbythenew29^thDistrictCommander,JohnnyLairdandMembershipChairman/1^stViceCommanderJohnChizmah. Johnpassedoutmembershippacketstothemembersandtheybothpraisedourcommitmenttoourcommunityandapprovedofourmeetingformat.
